For a swim-ready pool on Victoria Day weekend (May 18), book your opening at least two weeks ahead — the week of May 4 — so there is time for cleaning, balancing and full system preparation.

Included in your opening
- Removal, cleaning and folding of your pool cover.
- Reinstalling pool and deck equipment — diving board, ladder, handrails, return fittings, skimmer parts and the rest.
- Re-assembly of pumps, filter, heater, chlorinator and plumbing.
- Vacuuming the pool with our own pump to the street (except salt pools in the City of Toronto).
- Scrubbing tile and coping, and hosing off the deck area around the pool.
Charged in addition
- ENVIRO spring opening chemical kit.
- Chemicals used to balance the pool water.
- Biodegradable bags for pool cover debris — bagged and taken to the curb.
Billed separately from the opening
Pool system start-up
$128.00One hour on site, two business days after your opening.
- We return two business days after your opening to start the system. Your pool needs to be filled to the top of the skimmer mouth for us to start it that day.
- Labour beyond the first hour on site, and any labour or materials for minor repairs, are extra.
- Major repairs need your approval and may have to be rescheduled.
What the start-up covers
- Prime and start the filtration system
- Re-check and adjust water balance, and charge the chlorinator
- Prime whirlpool, waterfall and other feature pumps, if applicable
- Start the automatic cleaner and set the timer, if applicable
- Set up Jandy Aqualink, auto filler, floor cleaning system and similar, if applicable
- Check overall system operation
Pool heater service
$230.00- Activation, cleaning and safety check of gas and propane fired heaters. This has to be done annually by a licensed gas technician for your heater to run properly and safely.
- Under the laws covering gas fired appliances, this is the proper way to start your heater for the season.
- We leave the heater off at the toggle switch unless you ask us to leave it on.
- This program is required to maintain your Betz Pools warranty, where one applies.
What the service covers
- Clean the interior of the heater, the burners and the pilot assembly
- Open and purge the gas line to the heater, and turn on the gas valve inside it
- Inspect the heater and all safety controls
- Check heater operation and test run
Weekly service programs
- Weekly maintenance program$124.00 per visit
- Weekly chemical program$83.00 per visit
- For separate spas or separate fountains, add $30.00.
- Required pool chemicals are not included in these prices and must be supplied by Betz Pools.
- Through June, July and August we service on your regular service day. Outside those months we service the pool once a week.
Prices shown are for Service Zone 1 and apply to the 2026 season. Your zone is set by your service address; if your property falls outside our zones, a Betz Pools team member will price the work for you.
